Pre-Pregnancy Yoga Series

By jtervooren on December 8, 2008

Pre-Pregnancy Yoga Series at the Princeton Day Spa

Many aspects of yoga prepare a woman’s body for pregnancy.  Beginning a practice prior to conception will improve reproductive health, enhancing the chances to conceive.  Hatha yoga goes beyond the postures in your practice and includes breathing exercises (pranyama) along with relaxation.  Nourishment of the body, stress management, and rest are all enhanced through yoga.

Each Yoga class will be based on the principles of Hatha Yoga, with a focus on postures that contribute to a woman’s reproductive health.  Participants will receive personalized attention in small, 75 minute classes and will receive guidance to create an environment ouside of class conducive to pregnancy.  Students will have an increased awareness of their body and its needs.  Other benefits include:  stimulation of internal organs responsible for child bearing, stress reduction, increased circulation to pelvic region, enhanced sexuality, peaceful mind, improved confidence, relaxation, preparation for yoga during pregnancy and after, increased core strength to carry the baby, and increased flexibility in pelvis for child birth.

During pregnancy, your yoga practice will be modified at each stage for safety and effectiveness along with the guidance of your doctor.
