HSG Tests for Patients from the UK – England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland

Pregnancy can elude couples for many reasons including infertility and obstructions or damage to the reproductive organs. Those who have been trying to conceive for over a year may undergo tests to discover the reason that conceiving is difficult. One such tool is the hysterosalpingogram (HSG) test. Women who are having difficulty conceiving may have this medical examination to detect obstructions in the uterus or fallopian tubes that may be preventing pregnancy, or to ensure that a tubal ligation has been reversed successfully. IVF New Jersey offers HSG testing for our patients traveling to us from the UK including London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and other cities around Britain. Contact our offices to schedule an appointment.

What is a Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) Test?

The HSG test is a painless and effective way for us to find obstructions or damage that may be making it difficult for you to conceive. A dye is injected through the vagina and an x-ray takes pictures of the uterus and fallopian tubes. In a healthy system, the dye will flow freely through the uterus to the fallopian tubes where it will empty into the surrounding abdominal tissue. If the dye is unable to flow through the uterus or fallopian tubes, it indicates an obstruction at the site, due to scar tissue, polyps, or fibroids. All of these obstructions can prevent the egg from making the journey down the fallopian tubes and into the uterus, preventing sperm from fertilizing the egg, or preventing the embryo from attaching to the uterine wall entirely.

See if the HSG Test Can Help You Conceive

We perform the HSG test on our patients from Britain who are struggling with infertility. The HSG test is an effective tool that can help pin point the reason that you are not conceiving. Contact IVF New Jersey to learn more about the HSG test.
