Helane – Egg Donation

IVF New Jersey's own donor coordinator, Helane, used egg donation to conceive after learning of her own infertility due to a medical condition. Here she discusses how her experience with infertility and egg donation has helped her better serve patients who visit our central New Jersey offices.

Because of a medical condition, I was unable to use my own eggs and initially I was really upset about that but the more I thought about it, the more I embraced having an egg donor. My husband and I thought about it a lot and we decided that this was the way to go and when I felt the babies kick, I have twins. When I thought the babies’ kick inside, I knew these were my babies and they were going to be great. When the babies were born, I was so happy they are so adorable and they are still adorable. They are teenagers now. I think being a recipient has really helped me understand how to help other people, feel good about using an egg donor and knowing that the babies will turn out just the way they want them to be.
